Invisalign in Vienna, VA
Just like the name suggests, Invisalign is the invisible way for patients to align and straighten their teeth! It not only enhances the smile, but also corrects bite problems. The treatment consists of a set of transparent, custom-fit, and removable mouth trays that apply a mild force to the teeth, forcing them to shift in the proper position. The treatment offers the same beautiful results as traditional orthodontics, but since the mouth trays are made of smooth, clear plastic, virtually no one will notice them but you. If you’d like to undergo an Invisalign consultation with our team here at Monarch Dentistry, please contact us today! Vienna cosmetic dentists, Dr. Neil Flenniken and Dr. Suzan Rismani-Flenniken, would love to hear from you.
The Invisalign Process
This modern system works by our team first having a set of clear oral trays created by the Invisalign lab, each of which will be used for moving your teeth gradually and gently until the final result is achieved. At the end of approximately every two weeks, you will switch to the next aligner in the set. During the process, you will also visit one of our doctors approximately every four to six weeks so that we can ensure treatment is progressing as planned. Once this process is complete, we’ll typically recommend that patients wear a retainer in order to maintain the beautiful changes we achieved with Invisalign.
Invisalign treatment offers patients several great cosmetic advantages when compared to traditional orthodontics, including:
- When wearing traditional braces, irritation and injury caused by the wires and brackets involved is a real possibility. Thankfully, Invisalign patients don’t have to worry about this with their smooth, personalized plastic aligners.
- Invisalign patients typically don’t have to make as many visits to our Vienna, VA practice as those with metal braces, making the process more convenient.
- The Invisalign aligners are removable, which means that patients can easily take them out of their mouth when eating, brushing and flossing, or even participating in a big event where they want to look their very best. It’s easy for you to continue living your life like normal throughout the process, no significant changes required.
- Some cases of orthodontic treatment can stretch out over multiple years. Thankfully, Invisalign treatment is typically complete after 8-18 months.
Like any other orthodontic appliances, the cost of Invisalign system varies according to the complexity of the case. Nevertheless, Invisalign is usually costlier than traditional braces. Insurance policies normally cover Invisalign treatment to the same extent that they cover other orthodontic treatments.
